FOOD, HOME AND GARDEN

FOOD
The World's Fair Cake
Created by the appropriately named Bill Baker of Ojai, the World's Fair Cake was made exclusively from California products. Colored sugar replicas of Treasure Island and the Golden Gate and Bay bridges graced the top layer, the image of the Tower of the Sun was repeated on the sides, and nineteen California Missions were painstakingly recreated at the base. The fruit cake measured three feet high by five feet wide, and weighed one thousand pounds.
